Song: ‘Welcome to Paradise’ - Green Day
Finally, we are so back.
Now that the NWSL is back this newsletter is about to shift into high gear to cover it all. Below are two pieces that feature season previews which cover every team in the league. I highlight key offseason moves, who has to perform for the team to have a good season, and a young player to watch. I also added analysis for the bevy of late roster moves announced yesterday (how dare they).
Throughout the season you can expect:
Pass Networks and newly revamped Shot Charts after the weekend’s games
Thank you to the great Catalina Bush
Data analysis on interesting tactical trends
Team and/or player spotlights
Me hootin & hollerin about something awesome that happened
and more…
I’m glad you’re here, I’m glad the NWSL is back, let’s do this…
stuff to read…
I went long, in-depth, and semi-silly (it is me, after all) previewing every team in the league. I developed my own very scientific scales—Existential Leclercs and Smug Totos—to rate each team after a thing to know, three notes, who must hoop, and young baller to watch.
This preview covers Angel City, Bay FC, Boston Legacy, Hicago Tsars, Denver Summit, Houston Dash, and KC Current.
This preview covers NJ/NY Gotham FC, NC Courage, Orlando Pride, Portland Thorns, Rahsing Louisville, San Diego Wavé, Seattle Reign, Utah Royals, and Washington Spirit.
