Song: ‘Our Truth’ - Lacuna Coil
Hello there.
It’s time for your weekly roundup of woso, erm, stuff. While we’re done USWNTing for a while, this weekend will feature the Women’s Champions Cup final, PSG v. Lyonnes, and Chelsea v. Manchester City.
Also, we’re fresh off a goal-filled couple of matches from the NWSL Baby All-Stars version of the USWNT. I wrote about 4 things I learned from each match. Also, there’s a piece I wrote about the NWSL’s version of “parity”, which became even more evident after commissioner Jessica Berman said her primary duty was to be a ‘steward of capital.’ Lol wut.
Anyway, there’s a lot more below so use the appropriate scrolling mechanism and check it out. (Please, and thank you.)
stuff to read…
🔒 | Yes, Ayo Oke and Jameese Joseph are two of them.
🔒 | Wrote about Gisele Thompson showing why the deities must let her leave injury woes behind, Ally Sentnor vs. Wario Ally Sentnor, Reilyn Turner’s profile standing out, and — for the mathematically astute among you — one other thing.
I got mad about NWSL leadership trying to pass off their pursuit of mediocrity as a noble quest for parity, so I wrote about it.

Annie, Ella & I chat about the league finally allowing Trinity Rodman to re-sign with the Spirit, and why it feels like a new chapter in her career. Then we dive into all of the team’s roster news so far.
woso to watch…

The Fighting Michele Kang’s (London Edition) have had a slow start to the year under new coach Eder Maestre, or as he’s known here, Waluigi Jona Giráldez. They had a respectable showing against Manchester City, but need to get back to grabbing points.
The marquee matchup is Manchester City v. Chelsea. City will go into this game with a nine point advantage, Chelsea must win if they’re gonna have any hope of doing that Terminator’esque thing they do in the second half. (Spoiler: they won’t.)

You know I enjoy any time I can support my childhood club, Paris FC. Plus, Clara Matéo is a real hooper who you should watch whenever you can.
College soccer fans will have a nice little treat while watching Marseille, as former FSU star Jody Brown plays for the club. Also they’re 8th (of 12) so it could be time to start a #campaign.

psg v. lyonnes

Lyonnes already have a ten point lead at the top of the table, and thanks to a nine point deduction for fielding an ineligible player, that lead isn’t even over PSG, (Nantes is 2nd).
PSG sit 4th and have some work to do to make sure they grab an automatic qualification spot for the Champions League next season.

Gotham managed to fly to London and immediately lose to Corinthians courtesy of some super stinky finishing. They’ve robbed us of the Arsenal v. Gotham matchup we thought we were going to get. Imagine being such poor stewards of capital.
We won’t get the Arsenal v. Gotham matchup we thought we would, but Corinthians fans turned up and were loud all match, and got a just reward. Expect the same level of noise even if the result doesn’t follow suit.
farewell fun.
