We’re in for a massive week of NWSL’ing. Tonight, for some ungodly scheduling reason, there are four kickoffs, with three scheduled at the same time (8pm ET; thought it does look like weather in Orlando is going to keep that from happening, inshallah).

Every now and then the shuffling of matchups leads to a slate of perfectly timed squabbles. On a normal weekend casual fans might want to skip Boston versus Chicago, but Chicago took down Utah (who was flirting with the top of the table before the break) in their first game back and Boston fought back from 0-2 down last weekend. I will be locked in.

There’s also Kansas City and Orlando, which might eventually give us Banda v. Chawinga (both are starting on the bench). Utah and Gotham should be a banger, especially if Mina Tanaka is back. And we’ll still have Courage v. Spirit (always a banger), the Chanclásico (San Diego vs. Los Angeles), and the Cascadia Rivalry (Seattle v. Portland).

If the NWSL had a real rivalry week, this would be it. Midweek we even get Spirit v. Gotham at Citi Field for some reason. It’ll be weird, but it’s also a rematch of last year’s championship, so squabble up. Apart from all that, I’m also working on a piece about the NWSL’s salary cap. I was hoping to push it here but I kept rage typing and need time to make sure my points aren’t lost amongst the rage. Once it’s ready I’ll plop it directly into your inbox.

Did my best to introduce yet another exciting prospect joining the Washington Spirit. Monique Ngock certainly feels like a talent ready to take the next step, which very well might be a massive leap.

The restart to the NWSL season produced twenty-seven goals, four penalties, multiple bangers, and a center back scoring a direct free kick. The weekend slate also provided multiple come-from-behind wins, including Chicago stunning Utah with a legit performance. Shit was wild.

Spirit are back, so we’re back! Annie & I reviewed another dramatic win at Audi. We discuss Andi’s first start since her return, Rodman’s brace, heat, humidity & spiders. Then, free agency and new signings.
