No after two years of doing this you just realized it’s probably smart to restructure the format of the Friday posts so the #content comes first. Anywhoodles, I love a random bonkers woso weekend and this will be one of them. There’s a Supercopa Final between Real Madrid and Barcelona, Chelsea face Arsenal in the WSL (with both trying to stay within the vicinity of Manchester City), and since it’s not an official FIFA window, we get an NWSL All-Stars version of the USWNT.

Plus, I wrote about some other stuff. Below are two pieces, one dealing with the NWSL’s promotion of artificial parity, and another looking at the USWNT players to watch across the two friendlies. There’s also a chat we had with NWSLPA executive director, Meghann Burke, in which she discusses grievance-a-palooza, then comes the weekend slate of woso to jam directly into your face. (I’m learning, leave me alone.)

Got mad about Berman and NWSL owners pushing artificial parity as if we’re stoopit, so I wrote about it.

It’s January so that means Emma Hayes has blessed us with an all-NWSL camp roster and two favorable opponents. We probably won’t learn much about the USWNT overall, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be plenty of #watching and #noticing to do.
